Hamilton County STARS Introduces Equestrian Training

Feb 23, 2008 Hamilton County STARS Rescue Team introduces the 1st Equestrian training exercise at the Chickamauga Battlefield. The 1st training consisted of familiarizing members with the horses and how they can assist in searches in roughed terrain. Team member Melissa Benson 2179 introduce her horse to the team and explained working around these animals.

Training was then shifted to clue finding to study to see how effective a rider on a horse can be. This is a new approach to the team and we are going to be studying different guidelines before we set into operations the Equestrian Unit. But we see a great future ahead with this new unit of the Hamilton County STARS Rescue Team.

Thanks to Assistant Chief Buddy Kamin & Captain Bobby Brinkley, they unveiled tonight the refurbished 2190. Buddy says that they only have a few more items to complete and it'll be back in service 100% by Friday.

Thanks guys for a job well done and going the extra distance. This is something that we all can be very proud of, if you get a chance please let them know how much you appreciate what they have done.
